The guide network is graph consisting of junctions and edges across which Liora can be guided by Kestrel. Junctions that are associated with a location will be part of the map-location selection system. Other junctions serve a purely functional role for simplifying pathing in the network (i.e providing splits of a path).

The guide network is a key part of the gameplay experience, as it provides a stronger sense of orientation and map awareness. Like a theme park, the paths of a network generally pass by points of interest. This is where the player can decide to go off the path to do an activity with the Focus System. Milestone 3
