Tobias is the son of his mother, The Last Pilgrim and his father, the leader of the pilgrims. He got separated from his mother at the age of 7, and until then had learned a lot about surviving. His left leg is affected by The Rot when The Pilgrims carried it back some time during their travels. He has difficulty walking, and therefore relies on Liora to help him obtain resources.
He lives in a house next to the Bell Church, in the mother that he and his mother lived in. He turned his house into a workshop for crafting magical devices, in the hopes of finding a way to enter the Sealed Roots and find his mother. He lacks the necessary resources, which Liora must obtain for him. He also plays the violin, and can be heard playing outside when he is on a break from his crafting.
He found Liora stranded near the Waterfall Plateau when he was 11, and cared for her ever since while she was unconscious. At the time Liora wakes up, he is 16 years of age.
